If you know any high school or college students with an entrepreneurial nature, they have only until midnight Friday to sign up for the MECA Challenge.
This will be the second year for the competition. Teams of seven to eight students will work to solve a business problem that a startup might face. The teams will offer up their solutions during six-minute presentations on the final day of the MECA Challenge.
The competition will take place on Oct. 2, 4 and 5 at the Sprint Accelerator and the Alamo Drafthouse. (The Drafthouse, a movie theater in downtown Kansas City, will be the site of the final presentations at 2 p.m. Oct. 5. The presentations are free and open to the public.)
There is no charge to participate in the MECA Challenge. Winners will receive prizes. For more information, visit this website.
The sponsors of this year’s competition are Affinity Enterprise Group, Alamo Drafthouse, Kansas City Startup Village, KCSourceLink and the Kauffman Foundation.
