What’s it like to be inside the split-second choreography of an IndyCar racing team pit stop? Kansas City’s Engage Mobile Solutions will use Google Glass to give viewers a firsthand look.
The cutting-edge collaboration will capture the “real time” perspective of IndyCar driver Graham Rahal and three members of the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team’s pit crew, who will be wearing Google Glass’ hands-free optical head mount to record the action-filled scene in high-definition.
The pit stop involving Rahal’s No. 15 National Guard Honda car will take place during an April 30 practice session at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The session will be restricted to members of the media, but Engage Mobile Solutions and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing—whose ownership group includes CBS “Late Show” host David Letterman—will release a video of the event, including exclusive interviews.
Engage Mobile is a mobile app and software development company, and one of the first in the world to develop for Google Glass. Engage Mobile was part of the 2014 class of 25 Under 25®.
