The deadline is March 6 for this year’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards.
The awards recognize the nation’s top-performing company founders and CEOs. Self-nominations are welcome. There is no application fee, but each nominee’s company must be at least 2 years old. Nomination information is available at this website.
“For almost 30 years, we have had the privilege to honor many high-impact individuals through our Entrepreneur Of The Year Program,” said Mike Hickenbotham, Central Midwest program director for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year. “These leaders drive high-growth, innovative companies that disrupt industries, create new jobs and give back to their communities.”
A national EY winner will be named in November in Palm Springs, Calif., but there will also be an awards event on June 25 at the Sheraton Overland Park for honorees from Kansas and Missouri.
Leading executives like Henry Bloch of H&R Block and Len Rodman of Black & Veatch have won regional EY awards in past years.
EY honorees tend to have impressive records when it comes to business growth. Last year’s U.S. finalists for Entrepreneur of the Year achieved median sales growth of 30 percent and more than 30 percent growth in employee numbers over the previous two years.
The national sponsors of the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards are the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and SAP Americas. (The award program was created and is produced by Ernst & Young.) Local sponsors include PNC Bank, Smart Business, Common Ground, Lockton and Merrill Corporation.
