InvestMidwest Forum Wants Fast-Track Companies for Next Spring’s Event

If you lead a startup with the potential for big growth, you can now apply to present at next spring’s InvestMidwest Venture Capital Forum.

The forum—which has helped companies raise more than $1 billion over the past 17 years—will be held March 28-29 at the Sheraton Kansas City. (KC and St. Louis take turns playing host.)

The early application deadline for next spring’s event is Nov. 11, and the late deadline is Jan. 13. Organizers say early applications tend to get preferential consideration.

You can submit your application at this website. It’s free to apply, but the presenting companies must pay $750.

As many as 45 young companies will get a chance to deliver an eight-minute presentation during next spring’s InvestMidwest forum. There will be three different tracks during the forum: one for life sciences, one for information technology and another for ag and bioenergy.

Applicants must be based in the center part of the United States, must be seeking $1 million to $20 million in funding and must expect to generate $20 million or more within five years. (This last standard doesn’t apply to life science companies, though.)

“We are seeking applications from fast-track companies in search of substantial investment to power their growth to a dynamic, new level,” said Christine Walsh, InvestMidwest’s executive director. “The entrepreneurs leading these firms aren’t planning on organic, gradual growth.”
