A managed IT company is expanding into a new vertical.
K12itc, which serves schools, has launched Civic ITC to provide IT infrastructure management, connectivity and maintenance for municipal and county governments, chambers of commerce and other civic organizations.
Founder Brad Sandt said in a news release that civic entities struggle to keep pace in the rapidly changing IT sector.
“Our technology and our managed services will disrupt the status quo for civic-minded institutions,” he said. “There’s a real need, and we’re primed to fill it. We have the vision, the technology and the formula, and now its time introduce it into a new space.”

The same technology and full-service offering that K12itc has offered schools through its product Albert will now be available to communities in the form of a new product, Sam, designed to solve the unique challenges that can arise in the civic IT space.
“Just as Albert has done for schools and school districts, Sam will be a game-changer,” Sandt said.
With the expansion, Sandt announced the establishment of Menlo Inc., a holding company for both K12itc and Civic ITC. Sandt serves as president of all three entities.
K12itc was a recipient of Thinking Bigger’s 25 Under 25 Award in 2014 and was named as Small Business of the Year by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce in 2016.
