Kauffman Scholars Offers to Pay Salaries for Startup Internships

Kauffman Scholars is introducing a new program, StartupScholars, that will place 100 local students in 20-hour-per-week summer internships with startups and larger corporations with entrepreneurial divisions.

Even better, Kauffman Scholars will pay the salary of each intern. If a local business wants to participate in the project, it needs to apply by Feb. 15 at www.kauffmanscholars.org.

An informational session for interested businesses is set for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Kauffman Foundation, 4801 Rockhill Road in Kansas City, Mo.

The interns will be high school and college students who are already part of the Kauffman Scholars program, which helps low-income students seek a college education. The internships are designed to help them develop entrepreneurial mindsets and 21st-century workplace skills.
