If you’ve got an appetite for a good deal that helps others, then check out the fifth annual Kansas City Restaurant Week.
Starting Friday, at least 132 participating restaurants—the most ever for the metro-wide event—will offer customers multi-course lunches ($15) and dinners ($33) with proceeds going to local charities. Including this year’s anticipated donations, the total amount raised for charities over the history of Kansas City Restaurant Week will exceed $500,000.
The 2014 Kansas City Restaurant Week beneficiaries are: Harvesters Community Food Network, the area’s only food bank; the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association Education Foundation, which provides training and scholarships for those in the hospitality industry; and the Kansas City Regional Destination Development Fund, which supports area tourism.
