The Kansas City metro’s first Wine and Design location is celebrating its grand opening with a fundraiser for the TNK Children’s Foundation.
The fundraiser will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. this Friday, May 13, at 217 S.E. 291 Highway in Lee’s Summit’s Summit Springs Shopping Center. Admission is $35, the public is welcome and all proceeds go to the TNK Children’s Foundation. The nonprofit provides support to families whose kids have been diagnosed with cancer or blood diseases.
Wine and Design is a national franchise, and the studio at Summit Springs is its first operation in the Kansas City region. The business provides instructor-led painting parties, team-building activities, children’s events and other get-togethers. The classes can be offered at Summit Springs, or Wine and Design will travel to a customer’s home or office to deliver the lesson.
The Wine and Design of Lee’s Summit is owned by Kathryn Edwards.
“There’s the potential for a lot of growth in Lee’s Summit,” Edwards said. “It is very family oriented, which will be great for our children’s classes, camps and Mommy and Me sessions. Wine and Design offers a fun and creative night out with friends or a date for no more than the cost of dinner and a movie.”
