This week’s 1 Million Cups featured Pet Cooler Carriers, which makes a cooled, hydrated pet carrier, and Unlocked Inc., a nonprofit that produces baltic birch plywood furniture for children in rural areas around the globe.
Elizabeth Lakamp, the co-founder of St. Louis’ Pet Cooler Carriers, talked about the Pet Cooler Carrier, which has an ice chest built into the top of the carrier. The ice not only cools off the pet, but as the ice melts, the pets can drink the water from a valve inside the carrier.
Unlocked Inc., a Kansas City-based nonprofit furniture company, supports its mission by selling desks and chairs via the Internet—and for each piece that is bought, the organization sends another one to a child in an impoverished area, COO Ian Kuklenski said. Unlocked’s first partner community is Guizhou, China. Unlocked is running an Indiegogo campaign, which you can find here, for the next 34 days.
