Prenger Makes National Impact

Jeanette Hernandez Prenger
CEO/President and Owner
ECCO Select
Running a thriving company like ECCO Select is a demanding job, but CEO Jeanette Hernandez Prenger still makes time to volunteer on a local and national level.

She is in her third year on the national board of the Latino Coalition, a nonprofit group founded by Hispanic business owners to advocate for policies that encourage entrepreneurs and improve the community’s economic well-being.

Prenger is also a board member for the Orphaned Starfish Foundation, which builds computers centers at orphanages in Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean and Ethiopia.

Closer to home, it’s almost easier to list what organizations Prenger doesn’t work with. She’s the immediate past chair of Junior Achievement of Middle America and former chair of the Greater Kansas City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She is a board member and vice chair of urban scouting for the Boy Scouts’ Heart of America Council and serves as a board member for numerous other groups. She is this year’s chairman of the Lyric Opera Circle’s “Diamonds are Forever” Ball on April 12.
