Ryan Lawn & Tree in Overland Park has acquired Maisch Small Engine in Lenexa, a retailer and repairer of chain saws, trimmers, blowers and other handheld outdoor power equipment.

Ryan previously used Maisch to maintain and service its landscaping equipment. The acquisition was finalized in November.

“We want to welcome our newest acquisition to the Ryan Lawn & Tree family,” said Larry Ryan, founder and president of Ryan, who holds a degree in forestry. “This is a unique purchase. Retail is new to Ryan, and we are excited to embrace the new challenge.”

For the past three years, Maisch Small Engine has offered a variety of landscaping products and an on-site repair service aimed at the local Kansas City lawn care and landscaping industry.

“This is an opportunity to service our customers even better by making lawn care easier and more enjoyable through the use of quality equipment,” said Tara DePaepe, Ryan marketing director.

Ryan Lawn & Tree was founded in 1987 to provide homes and businesses with high-quality yet affordable lawn and landscaping services. The company performs lawn, tree and shrub care; irrigation system installation and services; Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) treatment; and perimeter pest control. Ryan Lawn & Tree services are offered in the Kansas City and Lawrence areas; the St. Louis area; Springfield, Mo.; Tulsa, Okla.; and Wichita, Kan.
