ScaleUP! Kansas City, an elite, transformative — and free — four-month program that teaches driven small business owners how to propel their company to the next level of success, seeks entrepreneurs who are ready to grow and scale their operations.
This intensive class for Kansas City entrepreneurs teaches established small business owners how to strategize and manage growth, forecast revenue and expenses, retain quality employees and more.
The program targets successful businesses that are seeking greater growth. ScaleUP! KC offers a personal learning experience with wisdom from expert business coaches and peer mentors who have hands-on experience with the ins and outs of scaling their own ventures.
Those who join ScaleUP! KC will learn how to hire the right employees, how saying “no” can benefit their business and how to avoid financial pitfalls.
“The results really speak for themselves,” says Jill Hathaway, a business coach for ScaleUP! KC. “We see so many excel after the program because they not only get that key insight from expert coaches, guest speakers and their ScaleUP! KC peers, but they also take to heart that priceless advice on how to scale their business, and that stays with them, long after the course. The neat thing is hearing about their business success in the media and seeing the results of the program in action.”
More than 100 local entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds and industries have taken the ScaleUP! KC program. In addition to lessons from expert coaches, business owners also will learn from their peers who hail from the tech sector, manufacturing, service industries and many other areas of business.
“When business owners finish the program, that isn’t the end,” Hathaway says. “Over and over, we hear about how they stay in touch with their peers — and our expert coaches are here as long as ScaleUP! alums need them.”
Eligibility
To be eligible for ScaleUP! KC, business owners must:
- lead a company that’s been in business for at least two years and has at least two employees
- generate annual sales in excess of $200,000
- create a strong market that can generate more than $1 million in sales
- possess the drive to lead the next generation of business leaders in Kansas City
“ScaleUP! Kansas City meets an important need in Kansas City’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,” says Jill Meyer, program director of ScaleUP! KC. “Building a business can be hard and lonely, so business owners often spend a lot of time working IN their businesses but rarely have the time or resources to work ON their businesses. ScaleUP! KC gives them that perspective to take their own businesses to the next level but also gives them the opportunity to be leaders in Kansas City business.”
