The Sheffield Place will host its annual fundraiser on Saturday, October 14, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Exhibition Hall at Municipal Auditorium.
“Off the Wall for Sheffield Place” benefits children’s and family programs at Sheffield Place, a treatment and supportive housing program for homeless mothers and their children in northeast Kansas City, Missouri.
Sheffield Place opened in February 1991 as a community response to the growing population of homeless mothers and their children in the Kansas City area. Since then, it has helped more than 1,000 families move from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
Sheffield Place serves homeless mothers with up to five children. The requirements for admission are that a homeless mother has children that are in her care, has a reunification plan, or is in her third trimester of pregnancy. As openings become available, mothers who are on the waiting list are contacted to complete an application and interview.
The organizations offers onsite residential housing services, residential clinical services, aftercare clinical services and permanent housing services.
The Off the Wall event will feature dinner, drinks, live art, silent and live auctions, and dancing with The Magnetics.
