The kickoff for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce 2019 Small Business Celebration will include handcrafted musical instruments, go-karts, shark-repellent jewelry, beer and more.
Candidates for the chamber’s 2019 Small Business of the Year will show off their wares from 5-7 p.m. March 27 at the annual Small Business Celebration Showcase in Sprint Festival Plaza at Union Station, 30 W. Pershing Road, Kansas City, Mo.
The Candidates’ Showcase is the first event in the Chamber’s annual Small Business Celebration. Following that, an independent panel of judges will select the 2019 Top 10 Small Businesses using criteria based on the principles of Kansas City entrepreneur Ewing Kauffman: growth in business, outstanding employee relations and community service.
CEOs of the Top 10 Small Businesses will be featured on a panel at the Small Business Think Tank Breakfast from 7:30-9 a.m. May 2 at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center, 2345 McGee St., Kansas City, Mo.
At the Small Business Awards Luncheon on May 23, the Small Business of the Year and Mr. K Award winner will be announced from among the Top 10. The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown Imperial Ballroom.
