Kansas City’s U.S.SourceLink is getting a new name and a new look. From now on, it’ll be called SourceLink. Its slogan? “R&D for your entrepreneurial community.”
You might already be familiar with KCSourceLink, the program that helps local entrepreneurs connect with free resources to start and grow their companies. But, as U.S.SourceLink, it also helped start similar programs in many other communities.
Removing “U.S.” from the name and logo, as well as adding the new tagline, is supposed to emphasize the research and development work the company offers to growing and developing businesses, not just nationally, but around the globe.
“Our new name, logo and tagline reflect our intention to stay relevant and continue helping communities build vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystems to support entrepreneurs who drive economic growth,” said Maria Meyers, founder of SourceLink and director of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Innovation Center.
SourceLink has been connecting businesses to the right resources at the right time since 2003. The organization got its start thanks to help and support from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
