SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza will open two restaurants in the Kansas City metro this spring, bringing the chain to eight locations locally.
A new SPIN! at Crown Center is scheduled to open in early March in space that used to be home to Kabuki. And another SPIN! restaurant will launch in April at 6510 W. 135th St. in Corbin Park Retail Village in south Overland Park. (Both locations will occupy about 3,800 square feet each.)
It’s only been 10 years since SPIN! began here in Kansas City. In recent years, the ownership—which includes partners Gail and Richard Lozoff, Edwin Brownell and Michael Kramer—has grown the business into a franchise. The first franchise location opened in spring 2013, and now, besides the SPIN! presence here in Kansas City, the business has franchisees in several states, including Texas, California and Nebraska, among others.
Last month, a team of franchisees announced plans to open SPIN! restaurants in Topeka, Lawrence, Wichita and Manhattan between now and 2020.
In addition to awards for its food and design, SPIN! was named a “Breakout Brand” in 2013 by Nation’s Restaurant News.
Thinking Bigger Business magazine featured SPIN! in a 2013 article on Kansas City-based companies that made the jump to franchise success. Read more about SPIN! here.
