If you’ve never been to The Sundry, now would be a good time to check out the Crossroads kitchen and market. If you’re a regular, here’s a celebration you won’t want to miss—plus you can get an early jump on the First Friday crowd that day.
On May 5, The Sundry will host a re-grand opening to debut a beverage bar and new small plates menu. In addition, The Sundry has introduced a Sunday brunch that will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14.
The centerpiece of the beverage bar is a 32-foot walnut bar where patrons can enjoy full-service coffee, craft beer on draft, wine, kombucha and house-made craft sodas.
The small plates menu will be available from 4 p.m.-close Tuesdays through Saturdays, and a happy hour will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring discounted drinks and small plates.
The May 5 re-grand opening will be an all-day celebration that features food, drinks and art. Coffee service starts at 8 a.m. The beverage bar will feature the Brew Gallery, The Sundry’s coffee service partners, and will serve a rotating mix of locally roasted coffees from Kansas City’s only SteamPunk coffee brewing system. It will also feature an Italian La Marzocco espresso machine.
The Kitchen’s new Spring menu will be available starting at 11 a.m. To celebrate the re-grand opening, happy hour pricing will be available from 4 p.m.-close on May 5 only.
The Sundry will also be hosting new works from painting and visual artist Joseph Willis in collaboration with live performances by KCBII (Kansas City Ballet) in their upstairs event space from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. that evening.
The Sundry opened in November 2014 at 1706 Baltimore Ave. and has evolved from a modern take on the neighborhood grocery store to an immersive craft food and beverage experience. The Sundry blends a casual, order-at-the-counter Kitchen, with a Market offering local and handcrafted products. All meat at The Sundry comes from local farmers year-round as does much of the seasonal produce.
