TDB Communications Enters New Mentor-Protégé Relationship

Lenexa’s TDB Communications is embarking on a new mentor-protégé relationship that could help the company win more government business.

Founded in 1999, TDB Communications provides contract staffing for light industrial, administrative, clerical, engineering, IT and other work. It will be partnering with a larger contractor, MAXIMUS Federal Services, as part of the Department of Homeland Security’s mentor-protégé program.

The official relationship is supposed to last three years. By working with the Virginia-based MAXIMUS, TDB will have access to some of the larger company’s resources and should be able to participate in more bidding opportunities.

“We are extremely excited to have a well-known and well-respected company such as MAXIMUS select us as their protégé,” said Laird Simons, TDB Communications’ president. “This is an enormous opportunity and could create jobs across the country and especially in Kansas City as our headquarters expands to manage the additional bid opportunities.”

TDB Communications is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business; co-founder and majority shareholder Terry D. Bryan is a U.S. Marine veteran with a long track record as an executive in the telecom sector. TDB Communications has workers in 25 states.

“We are excited to be working with TDB Communications and look forward to establishing a long-term, trusted relationship that leads to exceptional performance for our government clients,” said Thomas Romeo, the president of MAXIMUS Federal President.

“Participation with TDB in the Homeland Security Mentor-Protégé Program is an exciting next step towards expanding our presence in the federal contracting market as we introduce our core services to new agencies.”
