UMKC’s undergraduate entrepreneurship program has been named this year’s national model by the United States Association for Small Business Entrepreneurship.
The program is part of the Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management. This isn’t the first time that UMKC has been recognized by the USASBE; the Bloch School’s entrepreneurship MBA was named a national model in 2012.
UMKC competed against 14 other schools for the honor, including finalists Baylor University, Clarkson University and the University of California, San Diego.
“According to the judges, the Bloch School undergraduate program scored high in all of the categories, with a number of standout elements,” said John Norton, managing director of the Regnier Institute.
“They cited our Entrepreneurship Scholars (E-Scholars) program for its innovative approach, and the program’s proven influence on new-venture growth and development in the Kansas City region for its impact.”
