This week’s 1 Million Cups presentation at the Kauffman Foundation offered two startups pitching online software and/or services: ClaimKit, which helps insurance companies to more easily work with claim documents mostly relating to the construction industry; and Venture360, a portfolio tracking system for angel groups and investors.
Claimkit CEO Chris Cheatham explained that his company gives insurance claim teams the ability to efficiently handle thousands of gigabytes of digital data by seamlessly copying the information, including the cloning of computer hard drives and laptops.
“If it’s created on a computer, we can get to it,” Cheatham said.
Instead of an insurance company potentially paying millions of dollars to gather and navigate the morass of information that can be required to successfully process a large claim, the ClaimKit cost is roughly $30,000, Cheatham said.
Venture360 CEO Rachael Qualls spoke about her company’s software that helps entrepreneurs raise venture capital and connect to angel investors by building an “interactive communication module” designed to increase transparency and reduce risk.
Qualls told the 1 Million Cups audience: “My goal is to get (every entrepreneur) in here an angel investor someday.”
