Deadline Extended for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year

Forget to enter this year’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year contest? Good news: You’ve still got until this Friday to submit your materials.

The application deadline, originally set for March 6, has been extended to March 13.

Entrepreneur Of The Year is one of the nation’s best-known awards programs for executives, and some of the company’s most successful business leaders, including Henry Bloch of H&R Block and Reid Hoffman of LinkedIn, are past honorees.

“For almost 30 years, we have had the privilege to honor many high-impact individuals through our Entrepreneur Of The Year Program,” said Mike Hickenbotham, the Central Midwest program director for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year. “These leaders drive high-growth, innovative companies that disrupt industries, create new jobs and give back to their communities.”

Self-nominations are welcome. Applicants must own or manage a private or public company that is at least 3 years old; the application packet must include comprehensive fiscal performance information for at least three years. There is no cost to apply.

There’s also an “emerging company” category for businesses that are 2 to 5 years old.

The Kansas City area’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year event will be on June 25 at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel, and the local honorees will be eligible to compete in EY’s national awards program.
