KC Officially Recognizes Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday has just received the backing of a key local supporter.

Kansas City Mayor Sly James has signed a proclamation officially declaring Nov. 30—which falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday—as Small Business Saturday. The initiative, which is being promoted in cities across the United States, encourages shoppers to buy their holiday gifts that day at small, locally owned retailers. As James’ proclamation notes, about 93 percent of U.S. consumers agree that supporting small businesses is important.

If you happen to a small retailer or a fan of local businesses, be sure to check out the official Small Business Saturday website, where there are a ton of free resources for promoting Small Business Saturday and local shopping in general.
