At This KC Business, It’s Always Spring Time
There are entire countries that haven’t been around as long as the 103-year-old K.C. Spring Works. The company customizes and installs springs on all kinds of vehicles, from pickups to heavy-duty dump trucks to over-the-road tractor-trailers.
Cousins Frank Fasl III and Bob Fasl Jr. are the third generation of their family to operate K.C. Spring Works. They’ve been in the business for more than 40 and 30 years, respectively. Their grandfather bought the company in 1926 from his boss and the company’s founder, C.B. Hill.
There are big differences between then and now. Back then, K.C. Spring Works “was kind of a blacksmith shop,” Bob Fasl Jr. said. Today, the Fasls use hydraulic equipment that can quickly bring tons of power to bear when working with a spring.
What hasn’t changed—what’s allowed K.C Spring Works to endure—is a focus on doing right by customers, who stay faithful over the years.
“You do what you do,” Bob Fasl said, “and you do it right.”
