Kansas City will be one of only four cities to host a National Small Business Week event next month.
Registration is now open for Kansas City’s event, which will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 13 at Burns & McDonnell’s world headquarters, 9400 Ward Parkway. The daylong event will include forums on important small-business issues, matchmaking events and other networking opportunities. Visit this website to sign up.
National Small Business Week, which is organized by the U.S. Small Business Administration, was started in 1963 and is a time for celebrating the work of U.S. entrepreneurs. The SBA will pay tribute to the winners of its Small Business Person of the Year awards, which are presented at both the state and national level. Nilson Goes, the founder of Infinite Energy Construction, is the recipient of this year’s Missouri Small Business Person of the Year honor.
The other cities picked for National Small Business Week’s national events include San Francisco (May 12), Boston (May 15) and Washington, D.C. (May 15-16).
