Not everybody is a natural at giving presentations — it takes time and practice to assemble a great pitch and become adept at delivering it. Luckily, there are resources out there for people who are trying to get better and want to see how it’s done.
1 Million Cups // This program, held every Wednesday morning, gives local startups a chance to present their ideas to their peers and potential investors—and get feedback on what needs to improve.

Startup Weekend // This is a 54-hour contest where participants build a startup in a single weekend. Competitors are required to prepare a presentation for the contest’s judges, who hear pitches on Sunday evening. Startup Weekend is a great way to get hands-on experience with presentations. Kansas City tends to hold its Startup Weekends in the spring and fall.

Venture Fridays // Once a month, the local startup community gets together for a networking and social hour managed by Red Nova Labs and KC Startup Village. And most of those get-togethers include presentations from local startups.
