The Best Affordable Care Act Resources on the Web

If you’re feeling confused about the Affordable Care Act, you’re not alone. According to a survey this spring from the Kaiser Family Foundation, about 57 percent of the U.S. population doesn’t understand how health care reform will affect them personally.

The good news is that several agencies and organizations have put together guides and FAQs to help you learn about the biggest impacts of ACA.

HealthCare.gov // This is the U.S. government’s official portal for health care reform, and it includes guides for both individuals and small business owners.

NFIB.com // The National Federation of Independent Business has published several ACA-related guides and articles on its website, including its NFIB Healthcare Playbook, which addresses small business’s top concerns about the act.

SBA.gov/healthcare // One great thing about the SBA’s health care resources: They’re all broken out by business size, so if your company has 12 workers, you only have to learn about the rules that apply in that situation. The SBA also has a blog addressing different questions and myths about health care reform.

kff.org/health-reform // The Kaiser Family Foundation is one of the leading public-policy groups studying health care reform, and its website offers a wealth of information. This section of Kaiser’s website includes a timeline of the act, a series of news updates, a state-by-state report on health insurance marketplaces and more.

www.uschamber.com/health-reform // The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has built a special Health 101 website that includes tools to help employers see whether they are required to offer health insurance to workers and, if they don’t, what kind of penalties they could face.
