Potion Yarns: Business grows skein by skein

Johanna Miller is a lifelong knitter. Starting at age 6, Miller took a break from the craft before returning to it at 19.

“I like it because I get really fidgety when I don’t have something to do,” she said.

These days, Miller has plenty to keep her busy—working as a full-time hairstylist and running Potion Yarns, her own hand-dyed yarn business. Miller started her company in 2016 with the encouragement of her husband, Brek Miller, a graphic artist with a local law firm. (more…)

ABCreative: Combining play with learning

Ripple Glass: Passion for recycling fuels expansion

If you use food and beverage products that come in glass, “Ben” hopes you will help feed the big purple bins throughout the Kansas City area.

“Ben” is the purple winged bottle mascot of Ripple Glass, the area’s recycler of glass products with purple containers across the metro and beyond. In 2017, the company celebrated recycling its 1 billionth bottle, and next year, Ripple will mark its 10th anniversary. (more…)
